Keeping your hot tub covered for long periods of time can produce a musty or mildew smell on your cover after a time.
That’s why it’s important to keep your cover clean and free of these odors.
To help prevent this mildew smell, use a small amount of bleach (10%) added to water (90%) and wipe down the bottom of the hot tub cover every 60-90 days. This will help prevent your cover from getting that musty smell that everyone dislikes.
Do more frequent partial water changes instead of complete water changes to improve water clarity and water chemestry in your hot tub. This is common practice with fish tanks - it also works with your hot tub.
Many are generally not sure why they have to change the water in their hot tub. The main reason is to reduce TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) and make water balancing much easier.
All Brevard Hot Tubs sell many hot tubs curing the Winter, and doing partial water changes (more frequently) is much more convenient and faster than a complete water change.

How to keep your Hot Tub cover protected and looking good.
Vinyl Hot Tub Covers
Vinyl material used on hot tub covers is a backed fabric. It has an outer layer made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). When it is manufactured, it is sealed with a top layer containing plasticizers, colors and softeners.
Because your hot tub cover spends all its time outside and under the Florida sun, it is important to protect it against UV damage. Our covers use Marine Grad Vinyl to resist UV damage and mildew resistenance.
Protecting your Investment from Damage
On a monthly basis, we recommend using a vinyl conditioner to wiped down the tub cover. It will keep it looking good and it will maintain its UV protection. Below is a list of cover cleaners with UV protection:
303 Aerospace Protectant
Spa Essentials Spa Spa Cover Wipes
Clor Mor® Spa Cover Cleaner
Pool Solutions Cover Cleaner
Leisure Time Spa Care (Mfg#3192)
EcoOne Shell and Liner Cleaner
Note:The UV-blocking ingredients in your cover care product will also work on your outdoor furniture that uses vinyl.
Note Note:Be sure to NOT use a product that is labeled "Flammable"

Salt Treat’s patented formula is the perfect recipe for removing stains in Salt Water Pools
Salt Treat is a patented stain remover designed specifically for removing stains in Salt Water pools.
While salt water and chlorine generator pools are a popular alternative, an often drawback is their frequency to leave light stains on the surface of the pool. Salt Treat eliminates this by dissolving the stains of the surface and keep metals dissolved in water for up to 60 days. What you’re left with is all the benefits of a Salt Water System and none of the drawbacks.
Salt Treat also prevents calcium build-up from forming on the salt cell generators, making your equipment last longer and work more efficiently. Very easy to use, simply add one bottle of Salt Treat per 20,000 gallons to your swimming pool in the affected area. Then just follow up with a treatment every 60 days to keep your salt cell system in tip-top shape while keeping stains from coming back.
Provides a barrier to surface staining
Protects against efflorescence(calcium)
Protects wall fittings original color
Retains natural look and is suitable for all pool surfaces
Prevents scaling of the cells in all chlorine generators
What is Salt Treat?
Salt Treat is a sequestrant & a chelator. Those are fancy words for a metal holding, stain remover and preventor chemical.
Black Treat has the strength to control Swimming Pool Black Algae.
Kills black algae
Easy to use
Safe for you and your pets
Contains no metals
A lesser known fact of black algae is that it can never be “cured”; black algae releases spores that can remain dormant on the surface of your pool for years - it can even survive things like acid washing the surface directly. While spores aren’t visible – this means your pool will be susceptible to black algae growth. On top of this, Black Algae growth is difficult to eradicate. Luckily, Black Treat is specifically formulated to eradicate outbreaks of swimming pool black algae in one easy to administer dose; simply add one bottle per 20,000 gallons and follow the recommendations on the bottle for super chlorination. And to make sure you never have an outbreak of Black Algae again, we always recommend that you follow up with No Mor Problems® to suppress black algae from coming back and to keep your pool crystal clear all season long.
